Documents include letters from the British Foreign Secretary Viscount Palmerston, the First Lord of the Admiralty the Earl of Minto, the First Secretary of the Admiralty Viscount Halifax and Viscount Ponsonby, who was the British Ambassador to the Ottoman Sultan. There are also three Foreign Office letters addressed to the Prime Minister William Lamb, Viscount Melbourne. Among all the Admiralty correspondence, there are also several letters with unknown senders and recipients. The two maps are both sketch maps of the Dardanelles (pages 374 – 377). The set includes a collection of cancelled admiralty letters, which include summaries and annotations written by Stopford.
