Apparently the first edition of the text of a commercial treaty between Sweden and the Ottoman Empire signed and ratified in early 1862. The treaty itself extends the commercial relations between Sweden and Norway and the Ottoman Empire; there are also articles in the treaty that relate to shipping. The treaty was signed by Oscar Magnus Björnstjerna, the Swedish chargé d'affaires in Istanbul, and Mehmed Emin Ali Pasha, the Ottoman Grand Vizier. The Ottoman part of the treaty (pp. 27-30) was translated into French by G. Timoni. The tugra of Sultan Abdul Aziz is transliterated, and the other Turkish sections are also translated.
