A well illustrated and rare edition, complete with the colophon leaf, sometimes missing. This is the first edition to contain the Testamentum. The identity of Geber with the eighth century alchemist Jabir ibn Hayyan remains a matter of dispute but the historian and scientist George Sarton describes Geber as “a very great personality, one of the greatest in medieval science".
